Rohnert Park’s school district has approximately 6,200 students and is unique by offering Technology High School. This school is a college preparatory magnet school that is science, math and engineer based. In its short history, this school has been selected as a California Distinguished School in every year of eligibility, recognition as one of the best high schools in America by the U.S. News and World Report and a Magna Award winner by the American School Board Journal.

Rohnert Park has many elementary schools, two middle schools and the public high school, Rancho Cotati High School.

Rohnert Park is governed by a five-member city council, who serve staggered four-year terms. It is also split between Sonoma County’s 2nd and 3rd supvedistricts.
